Doctors

Ray Snopek,

DVM, MBA

A 1987 graduate of the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Dr. Ray has spent his entire career in small animal medicine and has a great deal of interest in caring for brachycephalic breeds such as English and French Bulldogs. He is the founding doctor of Ellwood Park Animal Hospital and opened it’s doors in the original location in January 1992.

Kelly O’Blenis,

DVM, BSc

Dr Kelly graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College, University of Prince Edward Island in 1998, and after a brief stint in the US, moved west to escape winters. She fell in love with Chilliwack, and after working in two small animal practices and an Emergency Hospital, she accepted a veterinary position with us in 2005, and is now a co-owner of Ellwood Park Animal Hospital.  Dr Kelly is very interested in Veterinary Behaviour, as well as Imaging.

 

Deb Engle,

DVM, BSc

Dr. Deb graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. She has been working at Ellwood Park Animal Hospital since October 1999. Dr. Deb works full days at Ellwood Park Monday – Wednesday.



Management Team

Cheryl Mander

Practice Manager

Cheryl is the Practice Manager and co-owner of Ellwood Park Animal Hospital. She has been with Ellwood since August of 1994. Although she is the Practice Manager she enjoys assisting wherever she is needed in the hospital.


Margaret Gallagher

Reception

Margaret is our head receptionist. She began her career at Ellwood Park in August of 1995 and has worked tirelessly ever since. She is usually the first person you speak to when calling us and is always there to help. She is our rock!


Darlene Seed

Reception

Darlene started her position with us in 2009. She brings many years of experience and training to reception. As Darlene’s passion lies in client communication, her warm, bubbly voice puts patients and clients at ease.

Lori Black

Reception

Lori has many years of experience working in veterinary reception prior to starting with us in 2014.  She loves communicating with clients and is also very helpful in assisting the doctors when needed.


Health Care Team

Candace Tharp-Farnsworth

VT

Candace has been with Ellwood since 2004. She came to work for us with a wealth of experience in small animal emergency medicine. In January 2011 she completed the Animal Health Technician program at Thompson Rivers University.


Jessica Bowsfield

RVT

Jessica has been employed as a Registered Veterinary Technologist since March 2009, bringing with her a wealth of experience from several other practices. Jessica also attended Thompson Rivers University, and enjoys all aspects of feline medicine.

 

Tiffany Ponzini

Veterinary Assistant

Tiffany has been with Ellwood since 2013, she assists us with patient care, maintenance of the hospital and also ensures that our hospital supply deliveries run smoothly.

Kelsey Firth

Veterinary Assistant

Kelsey joined our team in early 2015 after completing her Veterinary Office and Animal Care program at Douglas College. She works in reception as well as assisting the doctors and technicians.  She has a goal in mind of furthering her education by obtaining an Animal Health Technology diploma at Thompson Rivers University.

Makaila Lapointe

Kennel Assistant

Mak originally volunteered her time at Ellwood Park, but her seemingly endless energy and strong work ethic soon earned her a permanent employment position. Becoming a Veterinarian is Mak’s long term goal and she is currently finishing up her first year at TWU.

Sheri Neufeldt

Veterinary Assistant

Sheri graduated from the West Coast College Veterinary Assistant program in the summer of 2013, and was hired after completing her work practicum. (she made a great first impression!). Sheri uses her training in both reception and the treatment area, and is interested in patient care and Nutrition.
